Former WWE Superstar Jayson ‘The Gawd’ Paul (JTG) Guest Stars on The Black Announce Table podcast on April 8, says “He Will Answer the Phone.”
April 8, 2022 – New York City, NY – The Black Announce Table welcomes former WWE and current National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Superstar Jayson’ Tha Gawd’ Paul as their guest on this week’s show. Paul is known as being one half of WWE’s tag team, Cryme Tyme. The tag team was a larger-than-life duo with partner Shad Gaspard, which disbanded in 2010 and reunited in 2014.
Paul discussed his late friend Gaspard receiving the 2022 Warrior Award at this year’s WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony during WrestleMania weekend and experiencing one of the most significant moments of his life by accompanying Shad’s wife Siliana and son Aryeh to the ring. “That was a great moment that almost didn’t happen… I knew it would get a reaction but didn’t realize it would be so powerful,” said Paul. In 2020, Gaspard selflessly sacrificed his life to save his son from drowning after a riptide caught and pulled them out to sea while swimming one afternoon. Fans of Cryme Tyme have since campaigned for him to receive the award.
“JTG’s pursuit of keeping his late tag team partner’s memory in our hearts, as Shad’s wife and son accepted the Warrior Award honor at the WWE Hall of Fame, was an incredible moment. We had to know how that came about, and I’m glad Jay was candid with us,” says The Black Announce Table founder Ephraim Lawrence.
